What’s Think Salmon About?

Think Salmon is about inspiring individuals and organizations to contribute to the best possible conditions and environment for British Columbia’s Pacific salmon. If we all play a part in helping salmon to thrive, we’ll be protecting beautiful BC for future generations.

Individual efforts, put together, make a difference.

The Think Salmon Mission

  • Think Salmon will contribute to the sustainability of salmon in BC by encouraging and showcasing salmon-friendly behaviours and advocacy.
  • We will celebrate salmon culture in BC, provide a forum for stories and questions, and illustrate the truth that every effort makes a difference, no matter how small.
  • We will, with our community contributors, demonstrate the power of positive thinking and action.

Why Does Think Salmon Matter?

By supporting the Think Salmon mission, you’re not just helping salmon, you’re helping BC’s ecoystem and all the species living in it. Salmon watersheds aren’t just home to salmon; they’re also home to our cities and farms, our parks and forests, our industries and our backyards. Thinking salmon means thinking about BC’s communities, wilderness, children, and future.

Who’s Behind Think Salmon?

Think Salmon is a joint effort of Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) and the Fraser Basin Council (FBC).

The yearly return of Pacific salmon to their home rivers is one of the greatest natural events on earth. Salmon cast a massive nutrient shadow across the entire Pacific Northwest ecosystem and we are only now beginning to learn the intricate connections afforded by abundant wild salmon stocks.
