Quick Facts

  • Think Salmon is a community-based movement to celebrate sustainable Pacific salmon.
  • Think Salmon believes that salmon nourish the communities where they live: as food, as a symbol of the natural world, and as the key species in every ecosystem they touch. By thinking about salmon we are thinking about the natural world that sustains all of us.
  • ThinkSalmon.com is a collection of stories about Pacific salmon that anyone can contribute to. We want to collect the stories of how people think about salmon. And we want to connect people to the salmon in their communities.
  • ThinkSalmon.com wants your stories, your personal experiences, your photos, and your contributions. We want to know about the time you saw salmon splashing in the shallows of the river. We want you to send us the photos you took from the bridge, looking down at all those wriggling bodies fighting against the current. Share your story.
  • ThinkSalmon.com is also a place to learn about Pacific salmon, to find out about the different species of salmonids, the salmon lifecycle, and to get materials to help others learn about salmon as well.
  • Think Salmon is a joint project of Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) and the Fraser Basin Council (FBC), two non-profit, independent organizations dedicated to ensuring healthy, sustainable Pacific salmon stocks.
