Project Summary

Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival Society will be developing The Eagle - Salmon Connection story, to help people understand the interconnectedness of our ecosystems, and help individuals appreciate the importance of the Harrison River. The Harrison River is among the most productive salmon spawning grounds in the world, as every species of Pacific salmon returns here to spawn. Hundreds of eagles return each year for the salmon, and share this area with 142 species of other birds. The abundance of wildlife in this area makes it an important area in BC, and the awareness generated by the Eagle - Salmon Connection will help create momentum for conservation efforts.

The Eagle - Salmon Connection story will be written and produced in a number of selected mediums, with options including theatrical show, DVD, CD, and as teaching resources in classrooms. Supporting stories will also be developing over time by encouraging participation from local talent. This important story will raise awareness and teach lessons of interdependence, biodiversity and sustainability, working toward conserving and protecting the Harrison River.
