In 2007 the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival (FVBEF) commissioned Master Story Teller Peter Donaldson to write a new legend revealing the mysteries regarding the eagle/salmon connection. This was the birth of ’ Eagle Eye’, a one hour play which is a teaching story looking at our environment from a variety of different angle brought to life by an eagle on a journey of discovery. Included with this DVD is another DVD with interviews of community leaders in the Georgia Basin. These tools have a central purpose, to reach into the hearts of students and adults as well, to inspire exploratory learning.
Phase 2 of this project begins with this years funding from Fraser Salmon Watersheds Program.
The plan for this year is to complete the following:
1)The two DVD’s will be edited and reduced to one product.
2)A promo DVD will be created for initial contacts with schools in the Georgia Basin and the website.
3)Several copies will be made of the DVD’s for distribution.
4)The website will be upgraded to provide a platform for outreach of Eagle Eye.
5)Further additions to the Leader’s commentaries will occur.
6)Peter will begin an outreach program in several schools in the Lower Mainland
7)Peter will work with the Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival providing program which complements the Outreach Strategy.
8)Instead of one Coordinator for the FVBEF this year products will be contracted out to individuals who have particular skills to complete tasks required by the FVBEF
