Project Summary

The 2008/09 restoration initiative as recommended in the 2007 field assessments will enhance fish and fish habitat in the Xeni Gwet’in Caretaker Area.  The project offers an opportunity for community education and engagement as it intends to hire 2 Xeni Gwet’in community members to pursue stream restoration and enhancement work while also engaging the community through a Community meeting to share knowledge learned and collect feedback.  This proposal will also build community capacity to manage local resources and by building relationships with local government agencies.
