Citizen Science is the effort of volunteers (regardless of age, location, or experience) in gathering data about our environment. Citizen Science makes science available at an individual level where everyday people’s scientific observations can be shared at a scientifically defensible level with peers, governments, and other citizens. The information collected through such groups as Pacific Streamkeepers Federation helps assess the health of local streams and watershed and detect long-term changes. Citizen Science is about creating an informed community that creates political will, and influences government policy from a local to federal level. Get involved
