How does Capers Think Salmon?

Community: Fraser Valley

Capers Community Markets will be thinking salmon all day today, at all 4 of their Vancouver area stores. How?

By donating 5% of all 4 store’s pretax sales to the Pacific Salmon Foundation, one of the two organizations that help to run Think Salmon.

5% Day for Pacific Salmon Foundation
Pacific Salmon Foundation has a passionate desire to fix what has gone wrong and supports a diverse group of people and organizations in getting involved. Their mission is to conserve and rebuild salmon populations through strategic and focused efforts where people and resources are mobilized to work together to achieve common goals. Volunteer community organizations apply for funding and after review and recommendation from a selection committee, these funds are partnered throughout the community and put to work by volunteers.

Capers 5% Days were created to give back to our local communities by providing support to nonprofit organizations whose programs directly benefit the communities surrounding our stores. On these special days 5% of all 4 store’s pretax sales is given to a selected organization.

We’ll be out at the Robson Street Capers from about 1:30 to 4:00 today, talking salmon to go along with a demonstration they’ll be running. So if you’re in the neighbourhood, please come by.

If you’re not available, tell us a salmon story!
