Feds and BC Government Invest $20 Million in the Fraser Salmon & Watersheds Program

VANCOUVER, B.C. - The Government of Canada will invest $10 million dollars and the Province of British Columbia will match the commitment, it was announced yesterday at the State of the Fraser Conference gala dinner in Vancouver by Parliamentary Secretary Randy Kamp on behalf of the Honourable Loyola Hearn, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, and B.C. Environment Minister Barry Penner.

“Canada’s New Government understands how important Fraser River salmon is to the British Columbian way of life,” said Kamp. “Today’s announcement shows our commitment to making sure that future generations are able to benefit from this valuable resource.”
