Community: Fraser Valley

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) and the Pacific Salmon Foundation (PSF) are seeking four full-time staff to work as part of a team delivering the Fraser Salmon and Watersheds Program (FSWP).

This a multi-year initiative jointly managed by our two organizations and funded by the provincial Living Rivers Trust Fund, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Pacific Salmon Endowment Fund Society.

Fraser Salmon and Watersheds Program (FSWP)

The FSWP program seeks to inspire changes in human behaviour for the benefit of Pacific salmon and the watersheds they depend on, and to protect the abundance and diversity of salmon—all within a complex ecological, social and economic context.

The program focuses on integrated planning and governance, protection and restoration of salmon habitat, integrated water use planning, improved fisheries information, sustainable fisheries management, First Nations engagement and public outreach.

Program Manager (Two positions: one FBC and one PSF)

Responsible for the effective management and delivery of the FSWP, working with senior governments, First Nations, local governments, landowners, non-government organizations and citizens in the Fraser Basin. The Program Managers are responsible for delivery of a portfolio of projects and helping to develop new initiatives to meet strategic objectives.

Communications Manager (PSF)

Responsible for the planning and execution of the FSWP communications program. This position is key to developing and advancing the distinct FSWP brand, as well as enhancing awareness of the FSWP program goals, projects and outcomes.

Project Coordinator (PSF)

Key duties are to assist in the effective administration of the FSWP, managing contracts, reviewing project completion reports, preparing project assessments and tracking program progress.  Works closely with other staff to provide advice, direction and assistance as needed to support the effective implementation of FSWP initiatives.
