Storm gathering over the moutains surrounding Pitt River and Pitt Lake, BC

Storm Gathering Photo: James Sherrett

God made the old world lovely
He roofed it with the sky
He ribboned it with rivers
And piled the mountains high
He planted it with roses
That nod and smile and glow
God made the old world lovely
And we must keep it so.

God made the old world lovely
He garlanded it each day
With tasks to keep us busy
And friends to bless our way
He gave us truth and duty
Ideals by which to grow
God made the old world lovely
And we must keep it so.

—Jae Proctor, circa 1932
