Pink Humpy, Philadelphians tune a fish

Ever since traveling through the Pacific Northwest and Alaska as a child, Brendan Brennan has had a soft spot for nature in this part of the world. So when it came time to name his band in Philadelphia, Pink Humpy had a nostalgic appeal. “Out here nobody has a clue what the name means, and they think it’s something vulgar,” he tells us.

The band hopes to donate a portion of the proceeds from its debut LP to support Pacific salmon preservation.
